massachusetts vacationJune is halfway over and that means July 4th is rapidly approaching. If you haven’t already done so, you should consider booking a Cape Cod vacation home for the weekend. If you don’t do it now, those rooms will be gone before you know it!  Cape Cod is a beautiful getaway to spend your summer in general, but it’s also a wonderful location for celebrating 4th of July. Sandy beaches and relaxing scenery are the perfect backdrop for a summer party.

A Cape Cod home can provide the setting for an awesome BBQ with all your friends and family. After filling up on hamburgers, hot dogs, and a few beers, sit back and wait for the spectacle to start. Or if you don’t feel like throwing a shindig, walk down to the beach, lay down a blanket and watch the sky light up. It’ll surely be a romantic and memorable night either way.

Just don’t wait too long before booking. Next to Memorial Day, it’s the busiest holiday of the summer. Summer can feel so fleeting. Before you know it, it’ll be Labor Day. Enjoy these warm, sunny days while you can and spend them on the Cape.

I will never forget the sight. After several hours in the car, after rest stops and fights with my siblings, sing alongs and naps, we find ourselves in traffic unloading into Cape Cod, a river of people in cars emptying into an ocean of rest and relaxation. After that slog of a car ride and knowing that it was still about 30 minutes to get to our actual Cape Cod vacation home we had a big beacon of hope. As you drive over the bridge leading in to Cape Cod proper, which we did very slowly that first heavily trafficked time, you see beautifully arranged bushes that say “Cape Cod.”

That instantly told you where you were and made the whole ride seem worth it. You were now about to get your vacation going full stop. It was exhilarating the first time and every subsequent trip into Cape Cod those same bushes reminded us of all the fun we’d had previously. It was like a reassuring entity at the entry to our family vacations. We would wave to it when we arrived and tearfully wave good bye to it as we drove off. It reminds me to this day of just how nice vacation rentals in Cape Cod could be.

Cape Cod remains one of my favorite places. It is not just the beaches but all of the possible activities available. There are aquariums and breweries, there are historical sites and fantastic shopping. It is one of the most wonderfully fulfilling places I’ve ever visited because of the diversity of potential activities. It is almost as if the entire area has been manufactured just to entertain visitors and vacationing families. To some extent that is the case.

Because it was one of the first areas colonized when pilgrims came to America the Cape(as it is referred to locally) was stripped of greenery and resources early in its development. Around 1860 as the western United States began to open up farmers and residents fled Cape Cod. By the end of the 19th century the local greenery and general beauty was renewed and Cape Cod became a summer haven for Northerners of all stripes.

That is the rarefied air that the new Cape Cod vacation home renter steps into. That beautiful Cape Cod summer rental is one in a long line. This place has a history of entertaining the millions who have come through. It is a place where luxury and comfort are forever locked in harmony.
